Year 6 Dinner and Dance

Last Friday, Year 6 children had their Annual Dinner and Dance. The VW room was decorated and we were allowed to go and have a look. It was beautiful. Here are our pictures.

Shapes

We have been learning about shapes. As an activity, we looked around the classroom and out at the playground and found circles, squares and triangles. Here is a slideshow of some shapes we found inside and outside our classroom.

Art Exhibition

On Wednesday, Quincey went to the Art show at Papatoetoe North School. Our artwork was displayed at the Art Exhibition held at Papatoetoe North School. He had fun taking photos. Here is a slideshow of some of the pictures at the Art Exhibition.

Flights

This term, our focus is Flights. Today, we asked a question: what do we know about flights? Children have recorded their views of what they already know. Have a listen and tell us what you might know about flights.

Last week, it was Maori Language Week. We have been learning this song about Colours. Have a listen and tell us what is your favourite colour?

Botanic Gardens

Last Friday, we went to the Auckland Botanic Gardens as part of our Plants study. We saw a lot of different plants, fed the ducks, and even got a chance to do some gardening. We had a great time. Thank you to all the Parent helpers. We appreciated your help.

Future Gymnasts

On Thursday, we went in the VW room to have a play with the Gymnastics equipment. We had a great time exploring the equipments. Check out our video!

Sea Animals

This week, we have been writing about sea animals. Rayhaan and Quincey wrote stories by themselves  about the shark and the octopus. Listen to their stories.

The truck

On Monday, a truck came to our school to help with the roof for the new classrooms. After watching the crane, Quincey wrote a story about the truck. Here is his story.

Bubble Stories

After the Bubble language experience, Quincey and Oliver wrote stories of where the wind took the bubbles. Listen to Quincey's and Oliver's story to find out where the bubbles went.

Blowing Bubbles

Last Friday for our language experience, we blew bubbles. The children had a great time and some of our bubbles went to Bubble World. Here is our video: 

Pirate Day

Last Friday, we had Pirate day. Everyone had a great day. We played Pirate games, iced biscuits and did Pirate Jump Jam. Here is a slideshow.

Camera Experience

After having a look at other classes using the school's new set of cameras, A2 children had a chance to have their first camera experience.
We talked about the rules and labelled some parts of the camera. The children then went around taking photos of each other and here is a collage of some of the photos they have taken.

If you meet a dragon....

We have been reading this big book called If you meet a dragon, and we have drawn a picture of a dragon using Kidpix and have thought of what we would do if we meet a dragon. Have a look and tell us what you would do if you meet a dragon.
